Gosainkunda is the home of sacred ponds that are believed to be associated with God Shiva’s life. Located at an elevation of 4,400m, Gosainkunda has so much popularity for its natural and cultural brilliance. Our 10-days trekking package to Gosainkunda lake has this unique amalgamation of eco-cultural beauty with an easy hike over the Himalayas.
The trip begins to form the city of Kathmandu, where we’ll get to explore some of UNESCO world heritage sites. In later days, we’ll trek through dramatic landscapes, ethnic villages, farmlands, sub-tropical forests, holy lakes and the jaw-dropping views of mountain peaks. We’ll see the fine glimpse of Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Manaslu range from multiple places like Sing Gompa (3,335m), Gosainkunda (4,380m), Ghopte (3,530m) and Chisapani (2,215m). The majority of Nepal’s countryside has an organic village lifestyle. They mostly grow their food by themselves and live with nature. Live with them.
Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,338m)
One of our team members greets and welcomes you at Kathmandu airport and drops you to a chosen hotel. You can have your own time for the rest of the day. In the evening, we’ll organize a welcome dinner at a typical Nepali Restaurant, where you can enjoy Nepali food and cultural dance show. (Meal: Dinner)
Day 02: Kathmandu city tour
Kathmandu city is full of UNESCO listed auspicious and historical attractions. They are the clear mirror of Nepali history, art, culture, and religious lifestyles. Our professional city guide will take you to Swyambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar square, Pashupatinath temple, and Boudhnath Stupa. He will give a brief description of every monument. Enjoy the tour and stay overnight in Kathmandu. (Meal: Breakfast)
Day 03: Drive to Dunche (1,960m): 6 -7 hours’ drive
After breakfast, we’ll begin driving a journey towards Dhunche. The highway goes north through dancing hills, scattered villages, riverbeds, and forests. Dunche is a small town, having the headquarter of “Langtang National Park”. Enjoy the freshness of the countryside Nepal. (Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
Day 04: Trek to Sing Gompa (3,335m): 4-5 hours’ trek
Leaving Dunche, we’ll hike gradual uphill through oak and bamboo forest. Occasionally you may see endangered Red Panda on the bamboo bush. This area is their natural habitat. Further, we’ll pass Deurali and Dimsa villages before reaching to Sing Gompa for overnight stay. (Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
Day 05: Trek to Gosainkunda (4,380m): 5-6 hours’ trek
Since we’re going to trek to the Gosainkunda lake area, this will be the most exciting day. With the company of fantastic view, trek through villages of Laurebina (3,910m), Chandanbari and Cholangpati (3,654m) on a gradual uphill path. Gosainkunda has many sacred holy ponds located beautifully at the center of Langtang and Ganesh Himalayan ranges. People believe that we can get rid of our sins by showering our bodies with that holy water. Capture some good memories and stay overnight in a local lodge. (Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
Day 06: Trek to Ghopte (3,530m): 7-8 hours’ trek
Wake up early for the alluring sunrise view over the Himalayas. It will be so perfect for sunrise photography. Leaving Gosainkunda, we’ll trek uphill to Laurebina pass (4,610m). This is the highest point of our trek with a fascinating view of the entire central Himalayas. Further, the trail goes downhill until reaching to Ghopte village for overnight stay. (Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
Day 07: Trek to Kutumsang (2,470m): 5-6 hours’ trek
Today, the first section of the journey, until reaching to Thadepati pass (3,690m) is uphill and rest is downhill for the entire day. Walkthrough refreshing forests, farmlands and villages. You may also see local people doing farm works in their own traditional style. Overnight Kutumsang. (Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
Day 08: Trek to Chisapani (2,215m): 4-5 hours’ trek
Mostly downhill through lush rhododendron and oak forest, it will be a peaceful and easy journey. Hike slowly and take your time to enjoy the untouched nature. Chisapani is a spectacular hill station with a fine view of mountain ranges and surrounding towns and villages. (Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
Day 09: Trek to Sundarijal, drive back to Kathmandu: 4 hours’ trek, 45 minutes’ drive
Chisapani offers a charming sunrise view. Wake up early to catch up the glimpse over high hills and mountain peaks. After breakfast, begin the downhill trek through the forest. Mulkharka is a beautiful Tamang village en route. You may want to try their organic food taste, which is really good. Form Sundarijal, we’ll drive back to Kathmandu. (Meal: Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 10: Departure transfer
This is the last day of the trek, on which we’ll help you with departure transfer to the airport. We truly appreciate your business of Gosainkunda Lake trekking. Thank you so much. (Meal: Breakfast)
