Nepal Holds a New Guinness World Record for Highest Altitude Fashion Show Ever

First ever in the history of fashion industry, they went as high as 5,340M (17,515m) to do a Fashion Show and it’s a Guinness world record. On 26th January 2020, Nepal organized the first Mt. Everest Fashion Runway at KalaPathar, Everest. The show was attended by many famous models from various part of the world including Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Finland and Italy.
To spread the awareness about climate change in the global citizens was the main motto of this event. It also meant to help promoting Visit Nepal 2020 campaign. In partnering with other private parties, Nepal Tourism Board found this a good opportunity to advertise the country as the fine destination for all activities. Since Nepal is celebrating “National Tourism Year - 2020”, it was a good eye-catching event for worldwide fashion traveler.
The show was attended by many high-level dignitaries and fashion moguls. Along with the fashion show, the team of 48 people made it an enjoyable Trekking trip as well. They begin the trek form Lukla. Lukla is in 30 minutes scenic flight from Kathmandu. The crew has filmed the entire journey and will be telecasted in MTV USA & Canada during April/May 2020.
